IV Domingo de Cuaresma, ciclo A (Juan 9, 1- 41)
Jesús  toma la ceguera de un ciego de nacimiento “para que se manifiesten en él las obras de Dios”.
Todos conocemos  ciegos que lo son sólo de los ojos; no obstante, en el evangelio de hoy contemplamos cegueras más  terribles y resistentes a la sanación:  ceguera de corazón,  de convicciones, de voluntad, de conciencia, de sensibilidad, de creencias…
Que en esta cuaresma aprendamos a no caer en el viejo pecado fariseo: decir que vemos, cuando vivimos de espaldas  a la filiación de Dios y  a la fraternidad entrañable de Cristo.

Reminiscencias alto-medievales y Burgos de Pamplona primera parte

Enmarcada en la didáctica de ciencias sociales, los alumnos de 2º ESO A, han ido a la búsqueda de algunas reminiscencias alto-medievales dentro de los Burgos de Pamplona.
Esta salida tendrá su culminación dentro de unas semanas, cuando realicen la visita al Museo de Navarra y a la Catedral de Pamplona.

Plan Dirección y Solidaridad Humana

Dentro de las actividades enmarcadas por el Plan Dirección y Solidaridad Humana, este viernes 21 de marzo los alumnos de  ESO, han asistido a otra  interesantísima serie de charlas impartidas por Isabel y María, miembros del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía. En esta ocasión, los temas abordados han sido: drogas y alcohol (1º ESO); violencia de género (3º ESO); riesgos de internet (4º ESO).

Jesús busca entablar un diálogo de vida con  una mujer samaritana que cumple su tarea cotidiana  de sacar agua del pozo. Ante nosotros,  Dios se mostrará empeñado en un diálogo amoroso  con esa mujer esquiva y huidiza.  Al igual que a la samaritana,  la Palabra nos emplaza a un diálogo sincero ante el que,  o bien podemos disimular nuestra sed, o seguir el ejemplo de la samaritana y dejar que aflore el manantial interior.

San José, hombre de fe y singular vocación. Día del Seminario.

Hoy celebramos la solemnidad de San José, esposo de la Virgen María.
Desde el mismo relato del nacimiento de Jesús, José nos es presentado como hombre de fe, aceptando su singular vocación.
Su acción tutorial sobre Jesús  lo ha hecho protector  de la Iglesia, modelo y patrón de los padres de familia y de quienes son llamados  a emplear la vida  en servicio de la Iglesia, la gran familia de Jesús.
Celebramos igualmente el Día del Seminario. La iglesia que peregrina en Navarra nos invita a colaborar con nuestra oración y donativo en la formación de los seminaristas.

Noah Film Banned In Three Arab Countries

Noah, who in the Bible's Book of Genesis built the ark that saved his family and many pairs of animals from a great flood, is revered by Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

An entire chapter is dedicated to him in the Koran.

Many Muslims object to the depiction of any messengers and prophets of Mohammed in art, and European and North American media have repeatedly sparked protests in Islamic countries over the last decade.

The National Media Council (NMC), the UAE body responsible for approving films, said Noah, directed by Black Swan's Darren Aronofsky,"conflicts with (many) religions".

"Out of respect for these religious sentiments, we are banning the film," said Juma Obaid al Leem, director of the Media Content Tracking Department at the NMC.

Paramount Pictures produced the film starring Oscar-winners Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

A spokesman for the studio said: "Censors for Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE officially confirmed this week that the film will not release in their countries.

"The official statement they offered in confirming this news is because 'it contradicts the teachings of Islam'."

The representative said the studio expected a similar ban in Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait.

Cairo's al Azhar, the highest authority of Sunni Islam and a main centre of Islamic teaching for more than a millennium, issued a fatwa, or religious injunction, against the film last week.

Paramount Pictures is adding a disclaimer to marketing materials for Noah in an effort to ease tensions.

The message will say before every screening: "The film is inspired by the story of Noah.

"While artistic licence has been taken, we believe that this film is true to the essence, values and integrity of a story that is a cornerstone of faith for millions of people worldwide.

"The biblical story of Noah can be found in the book of Genesis."

Mel Gibson's 2004 film The Passion Of The Christ, which portrayed Jesus' crucifixion, was widely screened in the Arab world, despite a flurry of objections by Muslim clerics.

Noah's premiere is due to be held in the US on March 28. It is expected to be released in the UK on April 4.

Nuestro itinerario cuaresmal  está hecho de desiertos  y montes, de tentaciones  y chispazos de gloria. El Señor conoce  nuestros desánimos, la incertidumbre y malestar  que nos causa caminar  en la niebla  de nuestra tibieza personal y comunitaria.
En su amor quiere sanar  nuestra desesperanza mostrándonos su identidad.
No obstante,  toda la gloria  y la luz que vemos en el Hijo, no debe quedarse  en asombro y estupor; sino en gozo que anima a escucharle , a obedecerle, a seguirle  hasta Jerusalén.

Oscars: 12 Years A Slave Wins Best Picture. By Sky News

In one of the most hotly contested competitions of recent years, the film beat eight fellow nominees - American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, Her, Nebraska, Philomena and The Wolf Of Wall Street.

McQueen jumped for joy at the win and thanked his wife, who first showed him a copy of the original book, for "unearthing this treasure" and his parents before dedicating the win to "everyone who has endured slavery and 21 million who still do today".

Lupita Nyong'o won the best supporting actress prize for her role as Patsey in the 19th century drama.

The Mexican-born star, who is of Kenyan descent, paid tribute to McQueen, who she said charged "everything with the breath of your own spirit".

She thanked her co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender and said: "I'm a little dazed. I can't believe this is in my hands. I can't believe this is real life."

Ejiofor lost out in the lead actor category to Matthew McConaughey who won for his portrayal of an Aids activist in Dallas Buyers Club.

His co-star Jared Leto won the first award of the night after being named best supporting actor.

Leto beat Bradley Cooper, Michael Fassbender, Jonah Hill and Barkhad Abdi after playing an HIV-positive transgender woman in the film.

Gravity was the big winner at this year's awards, winning seven trophies, including best director for Alfonso Cuaron.

The film, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, won in many of the technical categories, including visual effects and original score.

Australian Cate Blanchett won the best actress prize for her role in Blue Jasmine, beating Sandra Bullock, Amy Adams, Dame Judi Dench and Meryl Streep.

Accepting her award, she praised her fellow actresses including the "sublime" Sally Hawkins and said films with strong female characters were not "niche".

She said: "Audiences want to see them and in fact they earn money."

Despite being nominated 10 times including in all four acting categories, David O Russell's American Hustle did not win a single prize.

The ceremony at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre was hosted by comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who opened the show with a string of gags poking fun at the event.

Referring to a recent spell of wet weather in LA, she said: "For those of you around the world who are watching it has been a tough couple of days - it has been raining. We're fine, thank you for your prayers."

A selfie taken on DeGeneres' phone featuring Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence has become the most retweeted tweet in Twitter's history, garnering over one million in just 45 minutes and going on to be retweeted more than two million times.

DeGeneres announced: "We have broken Twitter."

Pharrell Williams was the first act to perform at the event, singing Happy from Despicable Me 2. He was followed by Karen O, U2 and Pink.

Williams, Karen O and U2 lost out in the original song category to Let It Go from Frozen. The box office hit also won the best animation prize.

Bette Midler received a standing ovation after singing The Wind Beneath My Wings following a montage paying tribute to members of the film industry who have died in the last year.

After joking about how hungry stars get during the notoriously long ceremony, DeGeneres appeared to order pizza which she then handed out to Leto and others sitting in the first few rows at the theatre.

The award for best documentary short went to The Lady In Number 6: Music Saved My Life - a week after its inspiration, pianist and world's oldest Holocaust survivor, Alice Herz-Sommer, 110, died in London.

Italian film The Great Beauty won best foreign film while 20 Feet From Stardom was named best documentary, beating The Act Of Killing which had been a favourite to win.

The Great Gatsby won best costume and production design while the make-up and hairstyling award went to Dallas Buyers Club.

Tiempo para desenmascarar nuestra falsedad.

I Domingo de Cuaresma (ciclo A) Novena de la Gracia de San Francisco Javier.

Cuaresma  es tiempo de desierto, soledad, encuentro, austeridad, desprendimiento y  oración. Tiempo  para desenmascarar nuestra falsedad, para diagnosticar y sanar nuestros males.
Jesús nos invita  a salir a campo abierto, a unirnos en su lucha contra el "tentador" y asociarnos a su victoria. Dejemos que el Espíritu nos conduzca al desierto, allí  donde Dios nos hablará al corazón, tal y como hizo con nuestro Santo Patrón San Francisco Javier.

De Dios y el dinero

Domingo VIII del Tiempo Ordinario A
  (Mateo 6, 24-34)

      Teniendo en cuenta  los tiempos que vivimos, no podemos menos que estar preocupados por la comida, el vestido, la subsistencia. Jesús no dice que no nos ocupemos de esas cosas, sino que no sean nuestra preocupación más grave.
      Este mensaje se dirige más bien a los que ya tenemos lo suficiente, porque nunca nada es suficiente, y siempre queremos más hasta que  acabamos sometidos a lo que deseamos. Por todo ello, lo primero que debemos tener claro es  cómo queremos ser. ¿Somos servidores de Cristo y administradores de los misterios de Dios? Dicho de otra forma: ¿es el Reino nuestra prioridad?
La tarea no es nada fácil, pero no estamos solos. Si en algo creemos es en que nuestro Padre siempre está ahí, que nunca nos va a abandonar .
